After a weekend of our pup not feeling well, my husband made an appointment at Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic. Unfortunately, he made a mistake and made the appointment for a different day. We showed up, on the wrong day, told the receptionist what was happening she was able to squeeze us in within 20 minutes of our arrival. We saw Dr. Chris and he was able to treat our dog and get us out the door very quickly. By the time we got home she was almost back to normal. Thankful is an understatement.

Great doctors and vet techs, very compassionate care delivered quickly, for reasonable prices and with a common sense approach. We've used them 6 years to care for our dog and remain very grateful for the always terrific level of care provided, their unwavering concern for our animal's well-being as well as everyone's caring stance toward us, the animals family/owner. Highly recommended. 🙏

I don't ordinarily leave reviews but I am just so impressed and grateful for Dr. Elson at Mill Plain Vet that I want others to know how great he is. Without any notice (or even being a previous client of his) he made himself available to perform an emergency stomach obstruction surgery on my labrador, that saved my dog's life. He has continued to care for my dog whenever care is needed. He always shows a true interest in determining what is affecting my dog's health and takes time to discuss his thoughts and findings. I wish all health care providers were as thorough, effective and friendly as Dr. Elson. I hope this information assists anyone searching for a vet for their animal.

Dr Chris helped my dog Chewie after being diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer from September 2025 to March 2026 feel comfortable and always guided me down the right path! Thanks soo much

I just love Dr. Elson. He is so patient and amazing with my scaredy cat beagle. The whole staff is kind and helpful. I’m very happy bringing my pet to Mill Plain Vet and highly recommend if you are looking for great care.

My dogs have been seeing Dr.Chris for over 4 years. I trust him more than anyone. He repaired my dogs ACL by using stem cells instead of going in for invasive surgery. He cares about the animals so much and my dogs absolutely love going to see him!I always appreciate his knowledge and guidance for what’s best for my pets. I reccomend him to everyone! I am so beyond thankful I have a vet like him.

Mill Plain Vet is the best! Dr. Chris has been seeing our animals for a few years— He is EXCELLENT! He is extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and all around just great at what he does! This vet staff always goes the extra mile to make it happen! They go out of the way to make sure our pets are comfortable during their visit and have the best plans for care for them!! Amazing! Cannot recommend enough! Special thank you always to Sarah at the front end + Aimee! Molly, Otto, and Duchess Von Doom love you all! I had a fantastic experience at Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic and can't recommend them enough, especially if you have a reactive or fearful dog. My dog does not do well at the vet. He's very friendly, but the moment vaccines or any medical handling begins, he becomes extremely anxious and reactive. Dr. Chris knew this before walking into the appointment, and I was immediately impressed. Instead of rushing into the exam, he got down on the floor and spent the first 10 minutes simply building trust and rapport with my dog. In all my years of owning pups, I've never had a veterinarian take the time to make an animal feel so comfortable before starting the appointment. It was clear he genuinely cared about reducing my dog's stress. When it came time for the vaccines, my dog reacted exactly as expected. He started thrashing, growling, and trying to bite, but the vet held him in a tight hug. At that point, I told Dr. Chris we could just forget about the vaccines because I didn't think it was going to happen. But Dr. Chris stayed incredibly calm, patient, and confident. He showed absolutely no fear and worked with my dog in such a thoughtful way that within a minute, the technician was able to safely administer both vaccines. I was blown away by Dr. Chris's patience, skill, and understanding of reactive dogs. He never made my dog feel like a "problem," and he never made me feel embarrassed about his behavior, despite me apologizing over and over. It was one of the best veterinary experiences we've ever had. If you have a dog that struggles at the vet, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Chris. He's truly exceptional.

We found Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic a few months ago, and we are very pleased with the level of care provided by both Dr Gold and Dr Elson. Beyond their deep knowledge and experience, they showed my dogs and me so much respect, which is surprisingly uncommon these days among medical professionals. They shared decision-making, empowered me to ask questions, and were cautious about over-medicalisation. I enthusiastically recommend them!

Brought our Newfoundland and English Sheep dogs to see Dr Chris and his tech Missy they were both amazing. Spent so much time with the pups and was very thorough and seemed to genuinely care. Gave great advise and care. Can’t stand enough good things about the whole experience….was above and beyond. Thanks so much
